EITC Initiatives

Thanks to the generous support of area businesses, the ELCO Education Foundation has approved more than $200,000 in EITC grant funding for innovative educational initiatives since 2013.

Recent grants include:

  • A bookworm vending machine to celebrate reading and literacy at Jackson Elementary School

  • Classroom technology such as digital crayons and stylus for iPads

  • Video, audio, and livestreaming equipment to stream high school athletic contests and major events such as music concerts, assemblies, and musicals as allowed by copyright

  • Photography, lighting, and computer equipment to assist students in yearbook preparation and production

  • Finger pulse oximeters, stethoscopes, and exam certification support for the popular EMT Program at the high school

  • Book carts, lumber, and books for the ELCO Bookmobile that travels through the district during the summer months to promote the importance of reading all year long

  • Contributions toward educational experiences, including the Veterans History Project, Envirothon, and a field trip for high school students to the Chesapeake Bay.

Making a Difference…

  • Support innovative and educational programs and activities that would not otherwise be achievable through district operating budget funds

  • Provide incentives for educators to keep learning vital and creative through regular infusions of fresh ideas

  • Provide innovative or enhanced educational opportunities not funded by the district
